NWSLL SUMMER LEAGUE

NWSLL summer ball takes place in July and focuses on fun and development, with game only format and flexible rosters.

Registration is CLOSED

Our league’s summer baseball program is a special experience for many reasons:

  • It’s open to both NW players AND also non-NW players: Now’s a great time to play ball with your friends and family from other leagues.
  • There are no practices, just games.
  • The focus is on fun and development, not scores. Everyone plays every position—this is not playoff baseball.

There are now SIX divisions of play:

1 – Summer League baseball played on a 90ft diamond. Open to Juniors/Seniors (ages 12-16) including All League Age 12 year old Majors players. Most games are played at Lower Woodland Park, Hamlin, and Whitman. Games usually take place Monday through Thursday, twice per week. Games start after the 4th of July, finishing with a season ending tournament in early August. Summer League teams have expanded rosters to accommodate vacations. There are no practices.

2 – Summer League for Majors players (ages 10-12.) Games are played at fields hosted by QALL, NCLL, NWSLL, BLL, SLL, and RUG. Games usually take place Monday through Thursday, twice per week. Games start after the 4th of July, finishing with a season ending tournament in early August. Summer League teams have expanded rosters to accommodate vacations. There are no practices.

3 – Summer League for AAA players (ages 9-11.) Games are played at fields hosted by QALL, NCLL, NWSLL, BLL, SLL, and RUG. Games usually take place Monday through Thursday, twice per week. Games start after the 4th of July, finishing with a season ending tournament in early August. Summer League teams have expanded rosters to accommodate vacations. There are no practices.

4 – Summer League for AA players (ages 8-9.) Games are Player Pitch Only and use AAA rules. Games are played at fields hosted by QALL, NCLL, NWSLL, BLL, SLL, and RUG. Games usually take place Monday through Thursday, twice per week. Games start after the 4th of July, and end the first week of August. Summer League teams have expanded rosters to accommodate vacations. There are no practices.

5 – Development League (ages 6-8.) Games are Coach Pitch/Machine Pitch. Games are played at fields hosted by QALL, NCLL, NWSLL, BLL, SLL, and RUG. Games usually take place Monday through Thursday, twice per week. Games start after the 4th of July, and end July 31st. Summer League teams have expanded rosters to accommodate vacations. There are no practices.

6 – Tee Ball (ages 4-6). Tee-ball will have one Tuesday or Thursday evening game per week on the Crown Hill playfield—possible two games per week depending on enrollment.  This is an intraleague, sandlot format for beginning players.

If your player is between divisions—maybe moving into AAA next year— you can register for either division. Registering for the older division is a helpful way to get a taste of the next level of play before next season begins. If you aren’t sure which division your player should be in, please email Steve Ege at stevekege@gmail.com.

Coach volunteers are needed in all divisions. If you coached during the regular season (and/or are a cleared volunteer) and are available to help, please sign up (go through the same registration home page as your player).

Because our summer field rental costs are spread across many different leagues, the cost of registering for summer ball is $40 for Tee Ball, $50 for A (78er) division, and $60 for AA, AAA, Majors and Juniors. Special summer jerseys are included in this fee.  Hats provided to players who do not have one already.
